Nob Hill Gazette ? November 2013 Issue

Anne Thull Fine Art Designs was featured in the November 2013 edition of the Nob Hill Gazette. Below is an excerpt from ?The Kitchens Warming Trend? by Teresa Rodriguez:

Anne Thull says, ?Clients want to create their own distinctive environment versus simply remodeling to update a kitchen. These days they lean toward simple, clean cabinet door styles mixed with natural rough-cut wood and specialty stone slabs.? She tells us that customers are using shiny, unique tiles to create a one-of-a-kind backsplash and painted appliances to serve as fun kitchen focal points. Thull says, ?I?m a fan of special touches that can be added off the kitchen or pantry, such as a ?chef?s library? or ?wine connoisseur?s library.? These small rooms or alcoves provide quiet places to sit with a glass of wine or cup of tea to peruse your cookbook collection for that special menu. These spaces are also great for storing special serving pieces, vases, and other favorite items.?

Along with trending toward organic and traditional, kitchens are becoming a more balanced part of our entire living space. No longer are they sequestered in a separate room, or filled with intimidating ceiling-to-floor stainless steel. We are returning to a time when the kitchen was the heart of the home. Fortunately, we have access to high-end appliances that integrate seamlessly with the way we live now. We don?t need to compromise and go back to old technology to complete the hearth-like look and feel?today we can simply make any new, highly functioning, and high-tech appliance look like a piece of well-loved furniture.
